Ladies Lunch

GEF's very first ladies lunch will take place this summer, kindly headline sponsored by The Property Duo.

Date: Saturday, 18th of June 2022

Location: Union Kirk, Union Street, Aberdeen

Cost: Tickets are £50pp which includes, arrival drink, canapes, two course lunch, and teas and coffees. Tables of 8 & 10 are £400 & £500 respectively.

Our guest speakers include Alison MacLachlan the UK Director at The Wood Foundation and the Directors of the Property Duo, Stef Paterson and Jade Flanagan.

All funds raised will go towards:

- Paying the school fees of determined and talented girls who are out of school due to a lack of fees. It will also provide them with uniform, shoes, stationery, books and sanitary towels

- Improving the living conditions of girls who struggle to study due to lack of light and furniture to do their homework

- Developing our counselling service, which started in Jan 2021 thanks to a one year grant, into a psychosocial support program.  Lead by our social worker Serah, it will include a range of services and events designed to support, guide and encourage children and their parents

- Starting and expanding businesses and farming projects for inspiring women through our Two Feet Initiative

The event will focus on female empowerment and there will be guest speakers, fundraising activities, magic performed by Neil McArthur and live music from the fabulous JD Sings.

Stef Paterson and Jade Flannigan, Directors of The Property Duo said:

"We are delighted to be supporting the upcoming Gathimba Edwards Foundation Ladies Lunch, a hugely worthwhile cause that is close to our hearts- empowering women to be the best they can be, whatever their circumstances.
"Combined with our own passion for property, the foundation’s work really struck a chord with us. Learning how GEF are bettering children and families lives in Kenya through their great work in house building, it’s a privilege for us to be supporting the foundation".
