Wendy (age 8)

Wendy is regularly out of school and has limited access to food and water due to living in an arid area of Kenya.

Life then became even tougher when she lost her dad, whose job had brought in vital income for the family. Wendy’s mum suffers from ill health which requires medication, and this not only makes it difficult for her to work but the cost of the medical care puts an extra strain on their ability to afford basic needs. She tries her best to find work washing clothes for neighbours but there are many days when no work is available.

By sponsoring Wendy education for £35 per month, you will be giving her the chance to attend and complete primary, secondary and tertiary education. 100% of your support will go towards her public-school fees, uniform, shoes, books, school meals, stationery and female menstrual care products when required. You will receive an end of year school performance and general update along with a photo from us.

Please email info@gathimbaedwardsfoundation.org if you are interested in supporting Wendy.

We have seen first-hand the importance of education and the impact it has on lives, which resulted in us sponsoring Eunice. We wanted to take away the financial burden of school fees for the family, allowing them to focus on rent/food. We look forward to her updates and reading about her progression through secondary school. She has flourished and is now making good progress in further education. It is rewarding to know that we are supporting her and her family’s future. We will continue to support her until she completes her studies.
