Neil came on board as a Trustee in 2019 and has been a force of nature helping on a number of fronts since then. His wealth of knowledge from the charity and business sectors has been invaluable. In May 2021, Neil climbed Bennachie 31 times in 31 days as a fundraiser for the charity and raised an incredible £8,361!
We asked him why he wanted to get involved with GEF and this is what he had to say...
I had planned to go to Kenya with the 2017 house building group, but alas I suffered a heart attack just before departure, and instead had to undergo open heart surgery.
In 2019, my health completely restored, Myles asked me if I would serve as a Trustee and I had no hesitation in agreeing to do so. Having volunteered in the 3rd sector over many years, GEF is a hugely altruistic charity and its development from the early days, not so long ago, has been both inspirational and noteworthy. The GEF staff is a group of dedicated individuals, supported by a large number of sponsors, volunteers and fund raisers who combine well as a team, and who work tirelessly and unselfishly to give help. hope and love to the most deserving children in Kenya.
This is not a part time volunteering job for me, it is pure privilege.
