From his family being homeless in 2015 to graduating with a degree in Economics and Finance in 2024, Gibson’s story is one of self belief, resilience and selflessness.
In the face of adversity, his mum Lucy has single handedly raised 6 wonderful children who each have great attitudes, humility and potential.
GEF volunteers were honoured to build them a new home in 2017, which helped give them the safety and stability to maximise their potential. Mum Lucy now runs a succesul farming business, brothers Kelvin and Humphrey are in full-time employment and sisters Phoeby, Ivy and Fidelis are in full-time education. Gibson and Humphrey regularly volunteer for GEF to help build homes for other families.
Their example shows what can be achieved when you are humble and go the extra mile to help others who have been through similar circumstances. They are an inspiration to us and the families we support.
