Due to the inconsistency attending school, Elvis previously had to repeat nursery to catch up with the syllabus as the teachers felt he had not developed enough to start primary education. He is currently in grade two at primary school and enjoys class.
His family previously lived on the side of a road for 11 years, until GEF was told about the family's situation and was able to help by building a safe house with beds to sleep on. Before they moved six children and their mother slept in a mud hut by the side of the road, with an older child sleeping in a similar hut just down the road. They previously lived in the forest but were evicted by the Government and then put on a waiting list for a home. When it came to their turn the land was given to someone else, leaving them to remain in those desperate and dangerous conditions. The family now live in a safe and happier home.
With your support, we would like to support Elvis to ensure he has the best possible chance of receiving a full education. By sponsoring Elvis' education for £35 per month, you will be giving him the chance to attend and complete primary, secondary and tertiary education. 100% of your support will go towards his public-school fees, uniform, shoes, books, school meals and stationery.
You will receive an end of year school performance and general update along with a photo from us and have the chance to meet him should you come on one of our Kenya House Building (next one 2026) trips to Kenya.
