“In November 2017 I saw an advertisement for a RunningCamp in Kenya on social media and spontaneously decided to take part in it.
I was super excited and booked my trip and started to read a lot about the life of people in Kenya and the difficulties they are facing. I felt the urgent need to do something good, since I believe that it is all about giving not taking. I wanted to be part of something great to help others, to make the life of other people better and to make other people smile.
That’s when I came in touch with GEF and started texting Myles. When he brought up the idea to directly support 15 year old Emmanuel there in Kenya with my donations I was very excited about it.
Then in July 2018 I had my Iten RunningCamp trip and in the course of that I had the chance to visit Emmanuel and his uncle at his school where he showed me around, told me about his daily life there and it was heartwarming to see his welcoming, grateful and humble attitude.
For me the best thing about the Gathimba Edwards Foundation is that it feels like being part of one big family. It is amazing to get to know the great people which are involved in that organization and also to see that the donations really matter. Having a life lasting connection by exchanging letters and being able to accompany Emmanuel on his life’s journey is priceless!
Thank you Myles, Gideon and all the others for the services you are providing, for making this world a better place and for letting me be a small part of it! I can only encourage everyone to become part of GEF.
P.S. not to forget the outstanding bracelets designed and produced by Enock. I am proudly wearing mine with the Kenyan & Austrian flag with Emannuel’s and my initials “E&S” :)”
