12-year-old Susan lives with her mother Mary, grandmother, and two siblings. The family faced a difficult past – after experiencing mistreatment from their father, Mary moved the children to live with their grandmother for safety.
Mary struggles to provide for the family, especially with food and school fees. A later remarriage brought hope, but her new partner abandoned them, leaving her to raise the children alone.
Thanks to the support of local volunteers and the area MCA, the family was given a small house, which has improved their living conditions. Susan attends Junior Secondary School but is regularly sent home due to a lack of fees. Despite everything, Susan remains focused on her education and hopeful for a better future.
For £40 per month, you can sponsor Susan’s education and give her the opportunity to complete secondary and tertiary education, without the fear of being sent home. 100% of your support will cover her public school fees, uniform, shoes, and school meals, books, stationery and menstrual care products when needed. You’ll receive an annual school performance and life update, along with a photo of Susan as well as having the opportunity to exchange an annual letter.
