Over the years Secret Santa has become a popular way of exchanging Christmas presents within family, friends and colleagues.
Participants’ names are generally placed into a box and mixed up. Each person then chooses one name but doesn’t tell anyone which name they picked. He or she is then responsible for buying a gift for the person selected within an agreed budget.
Whether the budget is £5, £10 or £100 why not give a more meaningful gift this year. Instead of soaps and festive socks, make a donation to Gathimba Edwards Foundation in their name.
-
A donation of £5 would pay for 1 week of food for a family of 5; when school fees are high and parents sometimes only earn £2 per day, this gift would make a huge difference.
-
A donation of £10 could pay for a pair of shoes, socks, shoe polish & brush for a child who currently either has broken or no shoes at all.
-
A donation of £32 would pay for a single mattress; while so many children sleep on the floor this would be a perfect gift this Christmas.
