Paul’s nephew, Simon, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly last year. Not only was Simon a friend of Myles’ from schooldays, he was also a keen and adventurous sportsman, always up for a challenge. At his funeral, his family and many friends raised a large donation to kick start the fund for The Gathimba Edwards Sports Academy in Memory of Simon Mathers which will be built in the next few years. In October 2019 GEF volunteers will tkae on their largest building project to date. With plans to be finalised in the next couple of months, this project is likely to be a home for children with special needs. Paul wants to help make this possible.
On Friday 16th March 2018, at 11.40 am, Paul will be driven to the top of the Penrhyn Quarries on Wales, attached to a line and sent down a zipwire hundreds of feet in the air, travelling at speeds of up to 100 mph on the Velocity Zipwire Challenge. Paul states it as: “Crazy. Pointless. Unless you give it meaning by being willing to sponsor these few minutes of madness. It doesn’t need to be much. But if the story of the Gathimba Edwards Foundation has touched you, please give something.”

Thank you to Paul, his family and friends for this amazing support.
