Joan (age 12)

Joan is in her final year of primary school and has continued to meet expectations in her tests despite facing significant challenges at home.

After losing both her mother and grandmother, Joan was left in the care of her grandfather, Joseph, who lives with epilepsy and mental health challenges. He now looks after Joan and her five siblings, but struggles to meet their basic needs.

With no stable income, he relies entirely on well-wishers for food, clothing, and school support. The family often faces uncertainty, and without help, Joan’s education is at risk.

For £40 per month, you can sponsor Joan’s education and give her the opportunity to complete primary, secondary, and tertiary education, without the fear of being sent home. 100% of your support will cover her public school fees, uniform, shoes, and school meals, books, stationery and menstrual care products when needed. You’ll receive an annual school performance and life update, along with a photo of Joan as well as having the opportunity to exchange an annual letter.

Please email info@gathimbaedwardsfoundation.org if you are interested in supporting Joan.
