Jefferson loves secondary school, but he is close to being sent home if we are not able to find a sponsor to support his school fees.
Previously, the family endured some very difficult times as a result of domestic violence. However, we are delighted to say that they are now living in a safe new home thanks to GEF volunteers who built them a house last year. Although this alleviated the pressure of rental costs, due to a physical disability, it is very challenging for him mum to find enough work to raise the funds for Jefferson and his 3 siblings’ basic needs.
Jefferson’s performance in secondary has been positive. He told us that his new school is a good environment for learning and that the teachers are very supportive. He has also made some new friends which makes him happy.
By sponsoring Jefferson’s education for £35 per month, you will be giving him the chance to attend and complete secondary and tertiary education. 100% of your support will go towards his public-school fees, uniform, shoes, books, boarding, school meals and stationery. You will receive an end of year school performance and general update along with a photo from us.

The GEF sponsorship program is good because it offers the precious gift of education to those who otherwise would be excluded from school. It’s also fantastic from a sponsor’s perspective as it offers the opportunity to build a strong bond with child/their family.
