Before receiving support from GEF, Abigael and her brother Francis lived with their grandparents in a crumbling home – broken furniture, holes in the roof and walls, and no protection from the rain. They often had to sleep under umbrellas just to stay dry.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, including contributions from last year’s 10th anniversary fundraising dinner, GEF was able to build a safe and stable home for the family in 2024.
Tragically, earlier this year, Abigael’s grandfather Peter passed away. His loss has deeply affected the family, who are still coming to terms with the grief.
Abigael, now in Class 5, is a bright and enthusiastic student who loves school. Until recently, she had a regular sponsor, and we are committed to ensuring she never has to miss school again due to lack of fees.
For £40 per month, you can sponsor Abigael’s education and give her the opportunity to complete primary, secondary, and tertiary education. Your support will cover her public school fees, uniform, shoes, and school meals, books, stationery and menstrual care products when needed. 100% of your sponsorship goes directly to these essentials. You’ll receive an annual school performance and life update, along with a photo of Abigael as well as having the opportunity to exchange an annual letter.
